"This is ridiculous," I said. "There is an ongoing energy crisis and want idiots stop the bike. "
The senator took umbrage. "We're trying to help the automotive industry. "
"By prohibiting the bike?
"Having adults drive their children to school, "the senator said.
"What?"
"Think about it," the senator said. "If children can not ride a bicycle to school What are you going to do, especially when reducing bus service. "
"Walk?
Senator frowned. "We think more along the lines of conduct for parents, buy more cars, fewer accidents of children bike …."
"It will not happen, I said.
The senator listened anxiously.

"I believe that children can live with that," he I said.
