Mr. Schwinn was making an inventory of your store. It sells bicycles and tricycles. There were 127 wheels and pedals 106. How many bicycles and tricycles are there in your store?
Hi Jolie say that there tricycles and bicycles t b. So for all tricycle three-wheelers have 3t and wheels for all bikes that have two wheels so we have wheels 2b. Therefore: 3t 2 b = 127 Also, for every tricycle, we have two pedals, so 2t pedals and all bikes, so we have 2 pedals pedals 2b. Ergo 2t + 2b = 106 Now subtract the second equation of the first and we have: t 21 So we have 21 tricycles. = Put him in the second equation gives: 2 (21) + 2b = 106 or 42 106 2 = b, then 2b = 106-42 then 64 and 2b = b = 32 .. So we have 32 bikes and 21 tricycles:. Audit 2 (21) + 2 (32) = 42 64 = 106 3 (21) + 2 (32) = 63 + 64 = 127 Hope this helps.
