Should I change the axis of the wheel if your back is broken on my bike?

Ok, so I have a Trek 3700 mountain bike and I'm leaning on the rear axle while driving a hard road last week. I took it to the bike shop and the guy did not tell me I have to replace the whole wheel and cost $ 60 to get the same or I can update or whatever. Is this correct? I do not understand why you should get a new disc, except that it is in disrepair until axis. Why I can not pay some money for a new axle and be done with it? Thanks for the help!

First, I doubt that a reputable dealer dealing to sell a new disc if there was a kebab. About the only way I can see that you may have a new disc, because it would damage the center itself himself when he bent the shaft. I suspect that might be the case because a good shop will not replace a pin when they know that the heart is damaged, because they know they will not solve the problem and you'll be back. Assuming that their good reputation and have a store tread damage the ring in the center, which would require a replacement is not only the new axes. If the price of $ 60 is beyond your budget, try to find a rear wheel used in the same size and use. Depending on the wheel is you may need change the tape, but I think you can find a wheel used for less than $ 20. I wanted to add another possibility … badly bent wheel that can not be rectified. If the impact was sufficient to bend the shaft, so its quite possible that the disc itself (the edge) was reduced to the point that can not be corrected, if there is no other solution a new or used wheel repaired.
